Where Hout Bay
Distance from CT 25 mins
Setting This urban escape hidden on the slopes of Hout Bay’s western mountains offers incredible views of the beach and bay, Chapman’s Peak and surrounding fynbos-clad mountains. The owners have turned a barren piece of land into a thriving ecosystem, with a designer garden of indigenous coastal vegetation, and the two glam-rustic guest cabins are each situated in their own special spots in it. The Fynbos Pod is high on the hill, while the Reservoir Pod is above the small dam that feeds the eco pool. Both pods have direct access to the nature reserve from the property. Everything about this place is well thought out and special – from the hand-built basins made from sand on the property to the sliding windows that bring the outdoors in, and the “no shoes inside” policy.
